With our laser we can remove all colours. The process will start with a patch test. Then each treatment will be set with a 6-8 week interval for healing. The laser light will fade the tattoo ink slowly over time. The amount of treatments needed will depend on many factors including: skin type, depth of the ink in the skin, colour of the ink etc. Please click the link below for an estimated cost.
It only takes 2-3 treatments on average to lighten a tattoo enough to be able to do a cover up tattoo. At Studio 51 we can offer the whole package. We can lighten your old ink then after healing time we can create and tattoo a new design over the old one. The advantage of laser is that the new tattoo can be the same size as the old one whereas a traditional cover up means that the new tattoo will be a lot bigger
How laser tattoo removal works
The Revlite SI active q-switched generates a beam of light (laser) this is set at one frequency 1064nm for black and dark colours, 532nm for red and orange and 650nm for green and blue range of colours. The energy is absorbed the target ink while leaving the surrounding skin.
The laser breaks the ink particles into smaller pieces. The immune system can then recognise the ink particles as foreign and removes them over time.
The tattoo keeps fading over the course of the treatments.
