As Basingstoke's longest-running tattoo & piercing studio with over 20 years in the industry, at Area 51 we pride ourselves on providing the latest and safest techniques in body piercing. Our practices are at the forefront of modern sterilization and sanitation protocols, and our studio provides a clean, safe and friendly environment complying with all Basingstoke & Deane's health and safety guidelines.

Our piercing team are fully trained in multiple techniques and complex piercings. We are always here to provide expert advice on all aspects of body piercing, body jewellery and aftercare.

You can just walk in for piecing but there may be a 10-20 min wait due to the school summer holidays.

If you look under 25, you must bring valid photographic ID

Your ID must how date of birth and photograph. We accept college IDs in conjunction with one other form of ID with your name and date of birth.
If you are under 16 or 16 with no valid photographic ID, you will need parental concent.

We can only accept consent from a PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN. Your parent or legal guardian must accompany you to the studio and sign the consent form on your behalf. we cannot accept consent over the phone or email or letter.
Under 10s are not permitted in the treatment rooms

Under 10s cannot be left unsupervised in the studio. You must bring a responsible adult to supervise your child if you are entering the treatment area. Whilst children are welcome in the studio, please be aware that we need a quiet environment for concentration and respectfully ask you keep them well-behaved
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have given birth in the last 12 weeks, we CANNOT pierce you

You must follow the aftercare advice given by your piercer.

All aftercare advice can be found on our piercing aftercare page. Any deviation from this advice may cause issues when healing. Our pierces cannot be held liable for any compilations arising from incorrect aftercare.

We use single-use needles ONLY for all piercings in order to give you the swiftest, safest and most comfortable piercing possible.
All our jewellery is sized individually to the client's needs.
We offer a selection of jewellery colours for initial piercing; your choice of highly polished silver, anodised gold or rose gold, or PVD coated black.
Gems can also be added for a little sparkle!
We offer a wide variety of body, ear and facial piercings; if you don't see the one you want on our price list, pop in and speak to us or call our team and we will be happy to help you.

Transferse lobe piercing at area51 basingstoke — Our private piercing rooms are completely sterile, spacious and comfortable for a relaxed and hygienic environment for all clients to feel at ease in.
Our shop and piercing rooms are fully disabled-accessible. Guide and service dogs are welcome in the shop but due to hygiene reasons cannot accompany you into the piercing rooms.
We have male and female piercers, and can offer a same-sex chaperone if requested for intimate piercings.
Younger clients (16 and under) may be accompanied by a parent during their piercing. Regrettably we cannot allow other children, friends or multiple family members into the piercing room. Exceptions can be made for those with additional needs.
